Northbrae Public School
2024-2025 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are focusing on building respectful, healthy relationships.
We are doing this to see an improvement in peer relations, positive dialogue, and effective conflict resolution skills. We are also committed to improved student achievement, ensuring all students are prepared to learn each day.
Key Actions or Strategies
1. Northbrae Staff will continue to build equitable and inclusive classrooms through welcoming guest speakers for students and the school community as well as offering ongoing professional development for staff.
2. Staff will continue to teach and support students with emotional regulation strategies with the support of the Safe Schools and Wellbeing implementation coach as well as board resources.
3. We will continue to work together with parents and community partners to best support the students at Northbrae through consistent messaging about equity, daily practices, and expectations.
Community and Home Connections
- Ask your child about one act of kindness they did for a friend or family member throughout the day.
- Encourage your children to affirm individual identities by using positive and respectful words.
